Micro Play Writing Workshop

Tristram is Newcastle’s master of the Short Play and this year we are very pleased to announce he will run a workshop for us. So, if you have been thinking of entering a script and are not sure where to start, or if you have been writing for a while and would like to hone your skills please come along.

The Workshop will cover:-
Statement - What do you want your play to say?
Setting - What settings work best for short plays?
Characters - How do characters' desires and conflicts drive a story?
Story Structure - What are the general rules of story structure, and which parts are most important in short plays?
Dialogue - How do we capture our ideas in engaging, driven dialogue?
Writing Process - How many drafts and how much re-writing is required?
I will also present information on the venues, how to enter and selection criteria.
