Micro Theatre 2018 - The Director's Cut

CONDA award winning local short play festival, Micro Theatre, is celebrating its 4th year with a very special line-up of favourites.

The Director’s Cut showcases 8 plays, carefully chosen by Micro Theatre Directors. Since 2015, 38 plays have been performed at Micro Theatre Festivals and most of these have been written, acted, and directed by Hunter creatives.

“This year we decided to do something a little bit different. There have been so many wonderful plays performed over the last few years, and we wanted to give them another life.

So we asked some of our Director’s to collaborate with us, and choose their favourites to re-work for a special festival.

With almost 40 plays to choose from, narrowing it down to just eight was no mean feat!

The Director’s came away from this difficult process with a truly eclectic, interesting and varied collection of works.” Kate Dun – Festival Director

This year’s Festival runs across 6 days - 14, 15, 16, and 21, 22, 23 June.

Plays will be performed at two venues - Studio21 Artspace and The Press Bookhouse with four plays performed at each venue every night.

Tickets are just $18 and can be purchased from www.microtheatre.com.au

“Come and see our Director’s choices and celebrate with us. It’s hard to believe our little festival has grown so big in such a short time.

“We especially encourage anyone who is thinking of entering a play in future festivals to come along and find out what Micro Theatre is all about!”
